We are pleased that PCC Sue Mountstevens and Chief Constable Andy Marsh took position regarding recent increase of hate crime in Avon & Somerset. 

In the wake of the EU Referendum we want to take the unusual step of writing an open letter to reassure our communities that we will do everything we can to keep them safe.

Link Worker Project - Support for EAL children in Schools, how to access support

Somerset County Council, with a contribution made by participating schools have funded link worker support for Polish children in schools. This has been provided since 2007, (when it was provided by MECA). The service is based in Somerset and we work closely with schools, Yeovil Federation Extended Schools and other agencies. We are able to support all services run by Somerset County Council under Children and Young People Directorate department.
