Somerset-based translators and interpreters
Diversity Voice has provided t&i in the local area since 2008. We work for a wide range of clients in the statutory and commercial sectors and provide a free t&i service to many voluntary sector organisations.
We have opportunities of local people able to deliver a reliable, quality service on a freelance basis. For our work in sensitive settings such as that with police, legal and social services, we require a minimum of a level 6 qualification in an appropriate field. For other work you will require fluency in English and your target languages and a first degree. You may need a professional membership or DPSI for some jobs. From time to time we have opportunities for reliable bilingual people who may not be qualified for community focused work.
You will need to have a Basic DBS certificate dated from within the previous 12 months before being offered work. If you don't have this, we can advise you how to get it. You will also be asked to supply references.
In the first instance, please complete the application form. If accepted, you'll be asked to submit your qualifications and registration certificates if appropriate.
Our rates of pay are good, and dependent on the nature of the work and your qualifications.
Profits from our t&i work are channelled back into our charitable work.
To register, please first complete the application form under. Do contact us if you'd like to have a chat beforehand. We're looking forward to hearing from you.
